Summer Fun Catch Up!

Soooo it has been WAY too long since I've actually hooked the camera up to the computer and made an official blog post. I hate to admit it, but it has been since James' first birthday in April! Lawd. Maybe I should have kept doing the monthly photo shoots - it always forced me to blog from the camera at least once a month. Oh well.

Good thing I have a fancy phone that takes decent pics that I can upload to the blog straight from my phone (as that has been almost every post since J's bday). However, I still need to do a photo dump / blog catch up... Soooo.. here. goes. nothing!

This picture below is just a shout out to Jimmy's father who passed in December 2001. He played football at Tufts, and this shirt was actually Jimmy's. James rocked it a bit this summer and early fall. Too funny that it was Jimmy's shirt when he was this little.

Shortly after James turned one we started our official house hunting in Atlanta. We went and stayed with good friends, the Gibbes in Roswell, GA. James had a good time playing with Mary Elizabeth and Andrew... Andrew is pictured below. What a little cutie!

While we were staying with the Gibbes, they were so sweet to cook out and feed us. It was a great time!

After a bit of house hunting, we had to make our first Fripp trip of the summer... It was a special trip because not only was it Ellie and James' first cousins trip together, it was also our celebration weekend with the (then) Future Jennings! (Of course now they just are The Jennings!) :) Before Martha and Jason got to Fripp Nana and Pop had some fun with us.

Ellie was such a little sweetie the whole trip! She was always dressed to a T with a cute bow to match! :) haha

Frannie and James had some good bonding time too...

James fell in love with cousin Ellie...

It was fun seeing how our Fripp trips have changed slightly.... but all for the better. These little munchins make life worth living!! :)

Although it was a great, fun time.... It was also a ROUGH time. James had a few teeth that came through within a matter of days... of course the worst of it was when I was at the beach sans-Jimmy... but... we made it through it! Haha... I would like to make an official apology to Mr. and Mrs. Woodward & Jennings... It might be a long while before Martha and Jason have any kids because James was so ..... miserable. But, hopefully not! :)

Our beautiful bride! We wanted to throw Martha and Jason some sort of party / shower in celebration of their upcoming nuptials. Buuut... with two babies, three cities and two states - it makes planning a bit difficult. Martha opted for a long weekend at the beach... just us. It was a great idea!

Auntie Mar Tar got quite acclimated with James and Ellie... :)

Our future bride and groom were sooo adorable...

And when James wasn't crying from the teething... he was also pretty adorable!
(Oh, and my cute hubby too, ha! :)

James and mommy on the beach..

Mr. and Mrs. Jason Jennings!

RNE Trouble, trouble.... Well... also a little USC DDD trouble, trouble too! :)
(Fran was always an honorary Tridelta!)

We always love some porch sittin' at the beach!

And who doesn't love some baby snuggling?! Ellie is the best snuggler...

James LOVED the beach! (... he thought the sand tasted GREAT!)

My white little boy... haha...

He tore his little knees up since he still wasn't walking yet... but it didn't seem to bother him!

He loved buckets of water. But come on, who doesn't?!?

Someone had constructed a playpen out of sand castles for James... It worked! He just stayed in his little sand castle fort and Jimmy and I both got to actually sit in our beach chairs for a solid five minutes. They were the BEST five minutes! haha....

My guys!

Scoopin' up the sand and nom... nom... nom...

.... you left a little on your lower lip, J-bo! :)

Have I mentioned what a ball full of energy my little man is? So hard to catch that great shot, but we try every time. every. single. time!

During nap time we enjoyed a little corn hole in the courtyard.

Ellie boo joined us in her lamb chair.

Me and my baby-boo!

We had a great dinner at Bonito Boathouse... Although James was not impressed. Thanks to Jimmy and Uncle David for taking turns walking him around the boats. It takes a village to raise a child! :)

Cheers for the Jennings! Sans the men walking the babies... hahahahaha.....

J and his Uncle Cracker... oops... Uncle David! ;-)

The beautiful couple!

Frannie is such a good little mama....

James feeding dada sweet potato fries...

The girls!

The girls plus our little man....

My little family... my whole heart...

Jimmy loving on sweet Ellie girl...

Getting my itty bitty baby fix with my sweet niece!

It was a great trip and we were so excited to celebrate our sweet friends, Martha and Jason. I found this quote and think it sums up the weekend... and our wonderful friendship:

It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Jason, I apologize for my singing... well... all of our singing. It was a great trip! Much, much love to the Jennings. We love y'all!

Now... I'll continue with the summer recap. Buckle up -- lots more to come!
