Wanted: One Tramp

So everyone has been super sweet in asking how Miss Sadie is doing with this new addition to the fam. Well, honestly, at first it wasn't too good, but it is certainly getting better.

But I was telling Joy, my ever witty sis-in-law about it and she said, "awww its like The Lady and The Tramp... 'Lady, no! Stop that lady!'... 'Leave the baby alone...'..." All the while "Lady" (or Sadie) is thinking to herself, "but I thought iiiiii was the baby?!"

So... This is my SOS for a Tramp... A nice, funny, sweet, fun-loving mutt to woo my little girl and to give her a distraction.

PS--I don't want this tramp to shack up at our house... Just to come 'round and perk Miss Sadie up! :) ha!

On Second Thought...

Bath time isn't too bad.

James is starting to enjoy his baths. His first was okay but today I even got a little smile.

... But getting OUT of the bath is a different story! :)

Whew. I made it.

So Jimmy has found his "path" at EY and it is International Tax, which is very exciting, but a little tough right now... The reason -- he has to travel a good bit more than he was before... Last week he had to make a quick trip to Memphis, and he arranged it so he wasn't gone over night, but it was a long day for him, getting home after midnight. Well, even though he wasn't gone for a night, I'm spoiled rotten and my parents came to stay with me to help out with James-ee-poo :)

Well... Jimmy had to travel to Memphis again yesterday and he has a meeting in Atlanta today so there was no quick trip, he had to stay away for a night... And it was time to share mom and dad -- they are currently keeping my two adorable nephews and so they couldn't come and help out... So, yep... that's right. It was just James, Sadie and I all day yesterday, all night last night, all day today and Jimmers gets home around 9pm tonight...

Obviously I survived, but it makes me soooo thankful for Jimmy and my parents. Although I'm nursing and they can't help out there, they help out when little man decides he just wants to fuss and be held. I don't see how single moms out there do it! So here is a shout out to my fantastic hubby and parentals. Your extra set of hands are truly appreciated! Ha!

FUNNY NEPHEW STORY:

So I decided to make yesterday an errand day since I was going to be home alone with my little man all night. We had a very full day consisting of the post office, a trip to Joy's to play with Adeline for a bit, a trip to the park to hang out with the "big boys" - Hamilton and Zan with my Mom, lunch at the loft with the boys, the bank, Target, etc...

Well while I was at the loft it was time to feed James so I snuck back in one of the bedrooms while my mom, Hamilton and Zan were finishing up lunch.. While I'm nursing I see the door slowly open and who should it be, but my oldest nephew Hamilton grinning from ear to ear...

So I greeted H-man and he said, "What are you doing?!" And I told him I was feeding the baby... I asked him if he remembered when his mommy fed his little brother, Zan, like I was doing with James. He started laughing and said, "haha.. yeaaaahhhh...." Then he started walking over and asked, "Is that his milk?!" And I told him, "Yep, sure is!" He then climbed on the bed and informed me that I was feeding the baby a lot like other animals feed their babies.

So I laughed and said yes, I'm just like a cow right now... feeding my baby. Hahaha, Hamilton is so funny right now. Just love hearing what comes out of his mouth! :)

A Full Tummy Equals

One happy baby!

PS- James' cord fell off completely yesterday so we had our first official bath, which he seemed okay with... Until it was time to get his precious locks wet. :)

Business in front...

Our son is destined for great things... He was born with a mullet! :)

Looks like he is going to work hard AND play hard. My kind of guy! :)

Party in the back...

Desperate Times Calls for...

Desperate Measures: The Pacy

So we made it to week 2 without a pacy but after a rough 24 hrs, it was time to literally "put a cork in it."

I wonder if I will come to regret this moment? Oh well.. I'm enjoying some peace and quiet right now!

And the point of baby clothes is?

So James spends the majority of his days either sleeping, eating or getting changed (hence the pic above).
James officially christened both his parents last night. Jimmy was changing a diaper and while uncovered, he started spraying Jimmy down. After a new diaper and clothes, an hour later while I was changing him, the same thing happened to me! :)

Needless to say he has almost officially worn every "newborn" article of clothing at least once and he isn't even 2 weeks old! :) I'm beginning to wonder why we don't forgo the clothes and just let him go in his diaper, wrapped in blankets!

Thanks for keeping us on our toes little man!

Mommy-hood: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

So I've officially been graced with the title of "Mommy" for 11 days now, and I've come to find a few things about it.

THE GOOD
This is the easy part.... James is so sweet and amazing. He is only a little over a week and is already grinning all the time (I realize it isn't a true smile, but it still lights up my day!). He is so our little love bug and we can't get enough of him. It's amazing how you can love something so much that is so tiny.... The good far outweighs "The Bad" and "The Ugly" -- but I thought it best to document it all.... For memories' sake :)

THE BAD
Crying... comes with the territory of babies, but goodness is it hard to see someone so little and tiny screaming his little head off. We are so very fortunate that James averages only one "bad witching hour" a day (I know, we don't realize how good we have it), but it is so hard to hear him cry. However, my ears are becoming more accustomed to it, and I realize it is just a part of life now. We'll just try our hardest to keep the time spent crying to a minimum.... fingers crossed! :)

THE UGLY
Oh Lawd.... I came to find this part out last night. I won't go into graphic details but in the midst of a 3am feeding, I heard my little man relieve himself.... So I carried him over to the changing table and started changing his diaper.... Right after I did my first wipe - WHOOSH. Little man was NOT done with his dirty diaper. The scene was quite UGLY. Hahaha....

Again, "The Good" far outweighs "The Bad" and "The Ugly" and we love getting to know James more and more every day. He is an absolute joy to our lives!

Here is a little picture of James from two days ago... I realize the outfit is WAY too big for him, but he looks sweet nonetheless:
